I have never owned a black milk, but have owned several other milksnake varieties and found them to be quite squiggly and prone to bite.
I have owned several indigos and have never been bitten.
Indigos can be quite a handful and require a different level of husbandry than milks do - their PROPER keeping requires more time, more work but in my opinion is well worth the trouble. A milksnake in any form cannot approach the majesty of the indigo, period.
But, then again, depending on where you live, an indigo may be illegal to keep or acquire, so...
