Yes, they do look more contrasty as newborns, what with the alternating pale yellow and orange bands, which is more prevalent at mid body where the bands are widest. But unfortunately the orange pigmentation fades a lot as the age, in most animals. Some specimens, reportedly from Mexico, retain much of that orange into adulthood and make for spectacular specimens. I was lucky enough to get a hold of 2 males of this morph two years ago, but the problem is their awesome looks are likewise matched with fearsome tempers! I hope to some day cross my ill-tempered male with a female from my "tame" line in the hopes of getting select breed bicolored animals over time that won't enjoy the sight of my blood as much as he currently does...
