If an Eastern or Texas indigo is what you want, waiting an extra year isn't a bad idea.

An 8x3x2 cage is big enough that you could divide it in half and have 2 appropriate cages. You could make a door between the two and you could have a snake condo, not a bad idea if you had a pair.

Going bald does seem to help in some inexplicable way.
