: Off white, tan, yellow, beige are not what you want to see. I don't know if it's an early death sentence or not, but it's not a good start.
Let me add this much. Usually the eggs that are going to go bad are VISIBLY tinged with shades of both creme and yellow. Within a couple of days mold grows all over them, within a week they stink to high heaven. Another noticable thing is that Easterns also often produced MULTITUDEs of "little" mini eggs, ones that are about 1/2 the size as a nromal eastern egg. Usually when this happens the whole clutch is small like this. In my expereince, these eggs rarely if ever hatch, and if they do, then the subsequent offspring are small, undersized and/or malformed. They rarely make it, and I try to make it a point of never selling them.
Look for CLEAN bright white, granulated eggs, and relize that those slimy, mishapen(Like footballs) non granulated, or eliptical suasages are not going to hatch 95% of the time.
I dont know about Dougs bald white rain soaked head, but I do know that if you havent LOST your hair yet, breeding easterns could definetly bring on a high enough level of stress to mainifest that problem in your life!lol
And to think, we do this for fun?
lol
