: Hey Guys..especially Chuck...my five foot eastern eats like a garbage slougth....but tonight he not only didn't go crazy after I put the rat in his cage...he didn't eat it when held in front of him....Is this normal....I don't recall him not eating last winter although his cage has not been heated so far this year...Let me know...Many thanks
I don't think this is a problem yet. They will slow down even if you don't lower the temps. The weather changes will affect them too, light cycles, barometric pressure, humidity etc. They seem to know even if you try to keep them up. He mey be getting close to a shed also. I know they eat when opaque, but not always. I wouldn't worry too much even if he goes off feed for a couple of months. Do you have a female close to him, where he can smell her? That may also be part of it. Let me know what happens.
Chuck
