Well, I'm a bit ashamed to say I have kept my guys in large Rubbermaids for years, but will soon build larger enclosures to better accomodate their roaming needs. I have yet to use supplemental heat of any kind, relying solely on room temp, with the room itself being heated with a baseboard. Being not a "pure" Drymarchon aficionado, I need the room to be heated to an average of 80F for the other, more tropical stuff. But the large herp room does offer a significant temp gradient from floor to ceiling, so I just move the guys around vertically according to need on the various shelfing, so as to get the desired temp in the bins. There's always a thermometer on the female's bin, so I know exactly how high/low she's gone for the last few months. She has no way of choosing her temp in this kind of set-up, so it's probably the most effective way to find out exactly what range of temp they can maneuver within without causing an infertile batch of eggs. So far she's been between 74F and 79F, and is now as round as a hose these days. I'm checking her stomach for any sign of bluisness every day!
