: I was curious what time frame others use when they cool thier indigos. I, I mean they, stop feeding in the beginning of October with a little cool down. I used to try to feed them through the winter but found it an exercise in wasting rats. Now I dont bother feeding them until the end of feb or early march.
: Anybody else let them go off feed for 4 1/2 - 5 months?
: I know that most snakes live longer if kept on the thin side. Females produce better if kept a little plump. My female indigo doesn't seem capable of getting fat. I've fed her all she'll eat but she's not chubby. I suppose this is about the target zone.
: Thoughts?
DO NOT STOP FEEDING THEM!!! They will continue to eat in winter, they just slow down. Do you want a hungry male in with your female?
