I received this response from the wildlife & fisheries reptile rep:
"Louisiana regulates only native species of amphibians and reptiles. Since indigo snakes and gila monsters do not occur here, there are no applicable state regulations. As long as both animals are legally possessed,transporting them across state lines would not violate the Lacey Act.
"However, because gila monsters are venomous, there may be pertinent local ordinances prohibiting them in Monroe or Ouachita Parish. Both city and parish should be queried before moving. Somewhere in Title 56 is wording to the effect that only native species are regulated.
