I use newspaper covered with a product called Dri Dek. It is a plastic/rubber type mat with holes for drainage. The plastic is antibacterial and waste goes thru the holes away from the animal. Easy to clean, rinse off. This makes the newspaper a little more asthetic. I use forest green color. Below is a link for more info.
