That once upon a time, after first being called Coluber couperi and before the creation of Genus Drymarchon, the eastern indigo was named Spilotes couperi? It’s true!
A lot of similarities…Spilotes are kind of like skinny tree-dwelling, indigos. They definitely rival them in the poops-a-lot category. But, true, Drymarchon they are not.
