Dean,
I live in Southern Ohio where it is still pretty cold and I’m not having that problem at all. Mine are eating like it’s mid summer. I think it must be light cycles. When mine are in breeding mode, I reduce the light in the cages (fluorescent lights) to about 8 hours a day, and they feed sporadically like yours seem to be doing
now.
After breeding is over, I increase the light an hour a week. Now, they are on the spring/ summer 14 hour of light, 10 hours of dark, and they (at least the males) are eating like CRAZY. The females are ready to lay so they are not feeding. I still have one baby from this past summer and he is SLAMMING rat fuzzies every 4 days.
Try puttin some light on ‘em.
Dean A.
