: ...doesnt mean the drug isnt doing massive, long term damage.
: it can take months for a drug to kill an animal.
: amikacin, for instance. it's well known that it can fry an animal, but that the symptoms arent even seen for quite awhile afterwards.

: : While I THINK Digo is correct, I too want some more info...Solid stuff, not just annecdotal...A widely used anti-parasitical, easy to administer, and generally very well tolerated...Toxic reports just for Drys are hard to accept..
: : Just looking for some real proof, before I disgard a very beneficial drug..Carl
: : : I don't think it's medically or biologically responsible to simply state your way is correct and everyone else is wrong, case closed. There is evidence that this drug may indeed kill snakes. Without seeing the details, it is impossible for you or your vet to document beyond doubt that it is safe. This case is certainly NOT closed.
Pros/Cons,
Personally, I wouldnt use it. But, (And this is hella imoportant) I DISDAIN imports and have bought a couple- non-drymarchon and had less than happy results. With all the c/b drymarchon out there, why would you want to mess with w/c and all the asociated drama? I am neither for nor against flagyll as a medication, but since I am in no rush to get to "market" with my snaks and produce them and sell them,I take the long, slow, often aruous process of raising them up from babies, as the market drops. lol Who cares? Thats why, if it is Gods will, I will be doing this 4 years from now. Flagyll? Not part of my world, thanks anyway.
