In Reply to: Flagyl (metronidazole) Toxicity in Indigos???? posted by Joe on January 21, 2002 at 00:40:34:
I posted this some time ago, according to "Ackerman's. The Biology, Husbandry & Health Care of Reptiles" Indigos (and Kingsnakes) are very sensitive to Metronidazole., recommended dose is. Indigos 40 mg/kg, much lower then other snakes. I've used it on Yellowtails, Easterns & Unis, without side effects. I've also used smaller doses to stimulate feeding, per "Fry"& Ackerman.
