Fred's wisdom is well known, mine is not, but here goes...
Parasites and worms should not be that tough, I'm sure any vet can fix that...Your problem is the EYE...
It sound as if you have pus under the lens...That is bad!!! Do not delay or give it "time" The eye is a portal to central nervous system...It requires intensive care..I sounds as if your snake has anterior or posterior uveitis, both are BAD NEWS...
Minimum care will be daily antibiotic injections of something like enrofloxacin(Baytryl) and careful debridement, cleansing and application of topical lubricants/antiobiotics 3-4x's daily for an extended period...Not just a week or 2...
The key is your vet...Is he COMFORTABLE as well as competent with snakes??...Does he ROUTINELY (and I mean daily) have snakes/herps in his practice??...This is not a "give it time" issue...If you trust your vet, fantastic...If you're not sure, use one of the herp vet search engines and find someone you can get to...
Another thing..This is an expensive problem to fix...I spent well over $1000 fixing my Tx Indigo male breeder of a similar problem..Was it worth it to me, absolutely...But you'll have to answer that question for yourself...Fred's advice about captive bred animals is the best...I hope your animal gets well, but if not, you can start with a new animal CAPTIVE bred...
The best of luck (and vet) to you...Keep us informed...Carl
: I've got a 4 yr old black taled cribo with a very nasty infestation of worms, and also an infected eye. Took him to the vet to get dewormed, but he is not in good condition. He's also very skinny, so of course I'm very worried about him. He got his vet meds yesterday, and today is quite lethergic. Force fed him 5 pinkies to try and give him enough energy to survive the deworming. Currently, he's sitting on a chair wrapped up in a heating pad and a towel. He seems to be liking it, but still I worry. His eye infection is nasty, with some sort of cloudy yellow stuff under the lens, and the eye is swollen. Has anyone else experienced things like this?
