I'm sure to get flamed for this, but antibiotics do more harm than good, in the long run. only administer them if it's a life threatening situation.
that being said, i've had wonderful experiences with colloidal silver. yeah, i guess that makes me a quack, but the stuff works.
i knocked out a respiratory infection in my friends star tortoise just by pre-soaking his food in a colloidal silver solution. just 2-3 meals with this soaked food and the infection went away.
i've also knocked out mouth rot in a chameleon in just two doses.
never mind what it can do for people, but i now put this in all my snakes water dishes.
: Don't have experience with that drug, but respiratory disease responds well to a rise in temp ( in addition to antibiotics). The high end of the snakes temp range (ala Marzak's "Bacterial Diseases")
