: Sometimes when my 18 month old, 4 foot male indigo deficates, there is blood in it. He seems health and no prolapse. Any advice on what it is from or is it common?

This is interesting. I would notice very small traces of blood in my indigo yearlings last year. Took them to a vet (twice) for fecals and everything was fine. I now have two adults and occasionally notice traces of blood in their feces. They are all healthy and great feeders so I do not pay much attention to it. Now, I am talking about very small traces of blood, but it is noticable if you look closely. I wonder if it is somehow related to the rapid rate of metabolism which is characteristic of indigos. They defecate so frequently it may be an aggravation to their cloacal region!
Interesting that someone else picked up on this! I would watch it closely, however, and do not hesitate to take your snake to a qualified vet if it becomes worse.
