: Steve,
: You will need only a federal permit to buy captive easterns across state lines. I do not believe that there are any state laws in Indiana, but let us know if you find out otherwise.
: I'm in Cincinnati myself, may not be too far from you but, like just about everyone else...have no babies left from 2001.
: Unless you get lucky, you will probably have to wait and get them from one of the breeders next summer.
: Good luck.
Steve,
The person you want to contact for permits is VICTORIA DAVIS. She can be reached at one of the 2 numbers listed here, try both:
(404) 679-4176
or
(464) 679-4176
Keep in mind that she is a employee of Fish and wildlife, and as such may hve some generous vacation stuff going on right now. Best time to get her may be after the New year. Permits are inexpensive($25) and take about 4 weeks to a month to procure. I have one baby eastern indigo left from this years hatch. He was a very reluctant feeder, and graduated at the bottem of his class. Well , best of luck in your search.
Happy holidays,
Fred Albury
