That looks like the common pre-egg layiny skin of the female in winter. Your photo shows just a few scales like that. But look at some photos of some gravid females in winter time prior to their pre- egg laying shed. You will be amazed because as soon as they shed, the scales are normal and glossy and they remain so for the year.

As soon as your animal sheds, the skin should again be glossy, so you need not worry.
