I grew up in Harlingen, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, in a subdivision along the woods and banks of the Arroyo Colorado. It's just a sliver of undevelopable floodway land. This small area has sustatained a population of Texas Indigos or at least allowed them movement to other areas. About 5 years ago coming home, a 2' to 3' ft. Texas Indigo slithered across the front porch. But frequently, after heavy rain, if you ventured to check the rise of the water, you could spot indigos on higher ground.
