My experience has been the same as Chuck's. I vote wait a year. My thoughts are that even though she may be big enough, she needs another year to build up her calcium reserves for all those eggs.

: : i've got a pair of 2yr old easterns that i am considering breeding this year, i would like to hear from some of you guys or girls that have bred these for a few years for some advice. the male is about 5ft and the female about 4 1/2ft. any info will be greatly appreciated!
: My first response is to wait a year. I know others breed their indigos this young, but I prefere to wait. I have had eggbinding problems in young females. If she has enough girth, I'd say at least 2" diameter, you could try. If she is more slender I would wait.
