Once in a while I crawl out of my snake room in the basement and reflect. Not quite the Dalai Lama coming down from the mountain, but hey, here goes:
I realized this year that the price on a herp is just the obstacle that I have to surmount to get this animal down into my own room. Whether its a $1000 rare boa, or an $8.00 Hatchling Spiny Softshell, they all become the same when they get here. It's just easier for me to get the cheaper ones and I don't have to save as long. Whatever the babies sell for when I breed them, well, I'll worry about that when the time comes. In the interim, I've been having a blast with this hobby for over 30 years now. I'm just glad that it only takes a little baby herp to give me so much joy. Some people can't find joy in any form.
On Indigos in particular: I'm in PA where there's lots of great shows. I've been to 6 or 7 this year and haven't seen one Eastern Indigo offered. They sell before they ever make it to a table.
Just my 2 cents. Oh, also, "HI" to Doug and Dean, while I'm here. Only come out every few years!
