I don't mean to be preachy...and maybe you already know this:
It is illegal even to catch and release indigos in the wild. I too, would condsider bendnig this law if I felt the animal was in immediate danger of being killed or run over. It's very important that if you do feel that there is an absolute need to catch the snake, that you release it as close as possible to the catch site.
The existing populations are very fragile. They are best not tampered with.
Again...forgive me if you already know this, but many a good-hearted snake lover has done more damage than good by "relocating" these snakes.
