: I thought it was very strange that once I began to read about snakes,I found that in fact A LOT of snakes are listed as threatend in the wild---ball pythons that are a dime a dozen are in fact threatend as well...yet Indigos are get the most publicity. Kind of strange.
Indigos get attention for their plight because they are listed In the Endangered Species Act which is intended to protect mostly life forms indigenous to the USA. There are a few forms listed that only occur outside the USA, but they are not the majority.
They also get the attention because they Kick Ass.
