: because of the cost and red tape associated with eastern indigos, i think i have a better chance of getting a texas indigo. the only thing is that a lot of the reason i want my next snake to be an indigo is because of thier incredible intelligence and behaviorisms. so, does a texas indigo display these characteristics just as much as an eastern? thanks.
: btw- has anyone here noticed that this is almost the only forum on kingsnake where people arent constantly posturing with snake knowledge and playing the all-knowing snake master who is condescending to all other would-be owners who are not as "qualified"? its like a whole nuther culture in here!
My experience with Texas Indigos, which is limited to my lone female, leads me to believe that they are every bit the high quality pet animal as the Easterns. If state permits or financial limitations are an issue, you can't go wrong with a Texas Indigo.
My Texas female is significantly bigger than my Eastern females even though she is a couple of years younger. After seeing pictures of Dino's T.I. (I think it's Deans) named Brutus, I suspect that Texas Indigos may actually be the larger of the 2 subspecies.
Dont think you would be selling yourself short getting an errebennus.
