My snakes are in 4ft cages right now.I correct myself if your snakes are not eating you definitely should not move them to a bigger cage but thats with any snake not just indigos.Ihave never had problems with my snakes eating so I dont have that experience.Mytwo foot male I got recently ate 6 fuzzies .He has no problems being in a 4 ft cage. See what happens .I guess it depends on the individual snake.Idoubt it will be scared for life if you try it.
