: I only kept my juveniles in small containers for about two weeks .Then I moved them to there perminent cages. My snakes are not nervous at all .I do have three hiding spots for them though. My male(about 3 months old) will raise his head about six inches of the ground when somebody comes in the room to see what they are doing. He does'nt hide when you go up to the cage either.I think its a good idea for a small cage until they get used to the surroundings. But it doesnt take long .
Craig etc....
I use the following to house my neonate eastern indigos until the time they are aleast 5 months old and eating readily.
Shoebox size rubbermaid plastic boxes
sweaterbox sized rubbermaid plastic boxes
heated via heat rack or heating pad
Eastern Indigos should not be put in large , permanent cages until they have reached the 4 ft mark.
