Question about Indigo "comments"

Hi all. I have a two year old male Eastern Indigo who makes the most interesting huffing sound. Not a hiss, more like an exhalation through the nostrils. It is like he is making comments on life, and sometimes he has more to say than others.

The gentleman who kindly responded to my previous post said he had some that made the same type of noise.

My question is if this seems to be more common in males than females or if gender doesn't figure in at all.

Just my curiosity and utter fascination with these snakes!
