In Reply to: Permits and Eastern Indigos posted by Chris on October 01, 1999 at 12:10:16:
: Hi all. I've been a fancier of Indigos (and Cribos) for quite some time now and have been looking forward to one day adding a Eastern or two to my collection. I live in South Carolina and have thus far been unable to locate anyone in my state that are working with these great animals. That being said, I think my next step should be obtaining the proper permits for receiving an Eastern across state lines. My question to all of you is how do I go about doing this? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.
: Thanks,

It is easy to secure a federal permit. Call David Dell
of U.S. Fish and Wildlife in Atlanta Georgia at (404) 679-7313.
He will provide you a federal permit for $25.00. It take two
weeks. Just tell him the name and address of the breeder, and the
sex ratio and age of the animals you are buying, and he will send
you the permit.
Individual states may require state permits as well. Call your State
Department of Fish and Game and give them the same information and they
will send you a permit.
Then send copies of the permits to the breeder. The breeder will then send
you the animals.
It is not too late to buy babies. I still have them available for
sale. If you want one or more, you can send me an e-mail.
Good luck,
robert seb
