Just to add to the post above if you have not noticed yet herps are little by little being band from ownership . Two cases I might say bare this out .
In the state of Illinois you are not allowed to own large boids . In the State of Tennesee you are not allowed to own a Cal King simply because Tennessee has a native kingsnake . It is also against the law to own any turtle in Tennessee.
And what about New York ? Granted the bill is tabled till January but the fact is the State is seriously considering this exotic pet ban Which
includes Reptiles and Amphibians . This bill if passed could even make it against the law to own a common parekeet . And this bill is backed by the ASPCA .
Can it happen ? Nothing is etched in stone yet but the threat of it happening is very real . If not taken seriously before the HSUS and other groups get a real foot hold in government regarding reptiles and amphibians we may be in for a world of hurt . Remember they are well funded and do have clout with the Government so they can consevably get an anti herp bill passed .
