Any advice on the following..I have a pr of Tx IndigosBoth 4-5 yrs old...Just got them early this summer and would like to try to breed them next spring....Any good advice out there concerning how long to keep them cool and at what temp...Since they are naturally from the southern part of The Republic of Texas where a day below freezing is rare, should my target really be dormancy or just cooling down a little and for how long?
Also one other problem..The male is a healthy 6.5 ft, but the girl is only about 4 ft...Previous owner thopught he probably keep her in too small a cage...He had both from infancy,,How scared should I be about being left with one very fat male or should I just plan on not leaving the room while they are together...When should I attempt breeding??Feb Mar, etc....I live in Colorado, so I really have to watch the temps from late Sept to May..Thanks to any responders...Carl G
