: The guy is living in Dreamland as the only thing you'd get from crossing an indigo with a texas rat snake is a well fed indigo.
: I don't think there will be much of an issue with hybridizing the different Drymarchon, at least I hope it's never a real issue.
It concerned the purchase of some neaonates that were 1/2 Drymarchon and 1/2 black mexican king.
No substantiation on it, other than the guy posting it.
Hybridization of Drymarchon should be discouraged, if you go on the Pituophis forum, the MAJOR breeders there discourage crossing the diffrent species/subspecies pf Pituophis. I beleive that we should ALL follow suit.
Of course this is just my opinion, and folks will do what they wish in the end.
Also, as Doug pointed out, if I introduced my male eastern to ANY other snake of suitable size..than I wouldnt have to fed him for a couple of weeks thanks to the generous reptillian meal I gave him!! Cant imagine them actually breeding versus eating the new guest.
*cheers*
Fred
