about 12 x 18 " anysize they fit in comfortably is fine for adults. Like Fred said...when it's feeding time, watch your hands.

I personally like the cypress better than the aspen b/c of the humidity factor. Aspen is a much drier substrate. and I do also agree that it's easy to get lazy with spot cleaning...it doesn't kill all the bacteria that seeps into the substrate. that's why regardless of the look and smell, I always thoughly clean the cages and replace the bedding weekly.
