matt,
i just went through this with one of my indigos. go to any drug store and pick up a couple of tubes of lacrilube. put some on which ever eye cap remains twice a day all the way until its next shed. for the last week before shed time get a spray bottle and mist it as often as you can. mine had shed twice and still retained its eye cap so i took him to the vet.and thats what he told me to do and it worked. let tweezers, etc. be your last resort, as the retinas are easily damaged. good luck!
