What is the deal with Indigos?

How many species and subs are there? What are the corresponding common names?

Which are endangered, which aren't?

I live in GA, what's my law and how does it differ from your state's?

I know I have a lot of questions, but after holding a neonate in my Graduate school HERP class,
I'd like to know more from a herpetocultural viewpoint.
