Looks like I'm heading back to Florida later this month, I copied this invitation that I received below.
I plan to make a packet containing the information from indigosnakes.com to hand out to each in attendance and ask for their support of the site and solicit contrubutions to the site from them. I welcome anyone to contact me if they have ideas, concerns, etc. that they would like expressed during the workshop.
Here are the details of the program I will be attending:
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Southeast Working Group of Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation would like to invite you to attend a meeting on May 30-31 to discuss Eastern indigo snake conservation and outreach.
The purpose of the meeting is to bring together indigo snake biologists, land managers, and outreach staff to:
Review population status, threats, and recovery goals (how are we doing?);
Discuss research and monitoring needs;
Because public attitudes and behaviors are such great threats to the species, recognize that public outreach and education are important to threat abatement;
Brainstorm ideas for education and outreach initiatives; and Identify specific projects we will collectively undertake and assign tasks to achieve indigo snake conservation throughout its range.
We expect the meeting to be 2 days long. As we develop agenda items and more details, we’ll get that information to you. But we wanted to go ahead and get these dates on your calendar
