I have collected this rare subspecies twice, in 1998 and 1999 but due to Venezuelan wildlife laws these specimens could not be exported.
If it is of any help to you , I've included a brief morphological description.

Locality: near San Francisco de Macano, Isla de Margarita, Venezuela.

description:
Rostral is visible from above; loreal is present,
one preocular and two postoculars; temporal formula is 2+2; supralabials 8(4,5); infralabials 8(5); two pairs of geneials. 18 maxilar teeth.
Dorsal scales are in 15-17 rows, smooth and with apical pits. Ventral scales aprox(ave.) 196; subcaudal scales 76 in two rows; and the anal scale is not divided.
coloration of this subspp. is black in the anterior portion of the body, with brown irregular bands to the posterior portion. The undersides of the head are off-light-grey in colour, ventrally is dark-grey and the subcaudal region is completly black. max. size>> close to 3 meters and very agressive when molested, not wasting a single second to bite (VERY PAINFUL< believe me!!!!!).
