I was pleasantly surprized this morning to find my Texas Indigo dropping eggs. I didn't think she was gravid. I held her 3 days ago to see if I could palpate eggs, which I could not (am I lame or what?). This morning I found her outside of her nesting box, dropping small little eggs.
The size of the eggs makes me think that they may not be viable, but they are white, coarse, and look good otherwise. They are about 1/3 the size of my easterns eggs.
I think she's a small egg layer anyway as she's dropped 12 so far with a few more to go it looks like. Only 1 looks 50/50 for surviving but the rest seem OK.
I'll keep you updated on that.
Also, watch Dateline NBC tonight if you want a look at me at play. I got to be part of a reinactment of a rock climbing accident. I'll be one of the guys at the end of a rope going UP (no downward motion for me that day).
