Indigos will eat fish . Smelts are often eaten readily. Indigos do well on a diet that has fish, rats,mice and chicks. I beleive it is more balanced than the diet many breeders feed their snakes. The amino acids are more complete in this high variety diet. The only drawback is that the cage of a fish eating indigo can really wreak, but then Indigos reek anyway , so no big thing.
