: HELP!!! I look through this forum down to last year and didn't find many permit questions that helped. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I've been in Florida 2 years now, I've worked with numerous species of snakes for about 10years and finally I have a nice place to call my own and I would like to set-up a display cage with an Indigo. If you can help me at all it would be GREATLY appreciated.
: Thanks in advance.

Tony,
living in florida and trying to get a permit for an Eastern indigo, in its state of origin is basically an impossible task. I have friends that have lived down in florida for the last 25 years and are very well established, and they were not able to secure permits. I think dean hit it on the headm you are better off trying your luck with the various flavors of cribos that are available. Eastern Indigos are more mild mannered than Cribos(Melanarus, erebennus) but with a little work and consistant handleing they can become equally tame and good pets. Sorry for the bad news, but i probably get 3 or 4 requests from people in florida every 2 months and the answer is always the same, Contact victoria davis for verification of this, they call me and then they call her. same answer.
