: I've seen some pics of Indigos and think they look really cool. Can anyone tell me about their temperment, and if they are good for beginners? If anyone knows any good sites for info about them, I'd greatly appreciate it.

"Dingle"

I have kept Eastern Indigos for the last 9 years, have bred them for the past 5 years, and have worked hard to get a good reputation with these fine snakes.
Are they beginners snakes? They are definetly NOT beginners snakes, as they require a high level of care, cost much more than most beginers snakes, and are much harder to find/buy than your regular colubrids(Cal. Kings, gophers. milksnakes etc...) My telling you that they would be a great snake for you would , in MY book indicate that I was more concerned for your sale than you sucess. If you are bound and determined to get one, however, please go to my webpage at Renegade reptiles, they are hosted on kingsnake.com there you will find lots of info, e-mail me at FA19@excite.com if you have ANY other question not answered by the site. Eastern 8indigos are very messy, require a lot of cleaning which increases with the size of the snake, and have HUGE appetities that can break a pocketbook. But, they are admitttedly the most beautifull serpent that this country of ours has to offer, display an intelligence that few snakes other than Pituophis have, and ,aside from feeding time, are 1 of the tamest and most mild mannered snakes that I have worked with. Do your research, the only DUMB question is a question that you were to scared to ask. By learning more about them, you can make a more informed judgement call and also set their habitat up properly. look forward to hearing from you.

P.S.
You DO NOT have to purchase an Indigo from me to have me answer your questions. I will gladly help you any way that I can.
