I've had a couple of hatchlings that haven't voluntarily eaten since they hatched in July. I've force fed them each twice after offering food in every way, scent, I could think of with the snake refusing all of them.
The other day I picked up some pinks (5). I then saw one of the indigos was opaque so I put all 5 with the other little one. She ate all 5 of them.
I told this to a guy who breeds all sorts of snakes and he said he's noticed with some of his snakes that having a bunch of pinkies in the cage sometimes works. His thought was that it's like coming across a mouses nest with a bunch of pink babies. The sensory overload takes them and they eat all they can.
It worked with a snake that hasn't voluntarily eaten in 6 months now. Hopefully it will work on the other problem feeder.
Have any of you come across this or tried this trick?
