A very well fed Indigo...
I doubt that an Indigo and Black Kingsnake could be hybridized. I know that the king/corn/pine snake fans have hybridized just about every combination possible. It has made for some interesting looking hybrids and it's forcing us to think about our classifications when animals who shouldn't be able to make fertile young are producing just that.
There are logistical problems I see. 1 is a male indigo will simply eat a female king. You'd need a HUGE black king male and a rather small indigo female to have a compatibly sized pair. 2 the indigos want to mate in the middle of winter and EAT during spring while the king is sleeping in winter and thinking of mating in spring.
The animal you'd end up with if it was hybridized would be a somewhat smaller and dumber than indigo, larger and smarter than kingsnake, black looking snake. Dont those already exist in the Black Milk snake (lampropeltis triangulum gaigae)? The only thing I would be interested in knowing is if they could produced fertile offspring (BAD) or not (not so bad).
I'm not an anti-hybrid kind of guy usually but I'm leaning that way in this case.
If you're absolutely dead set to hybridize, at least make it look cool and try a cal-king or andean milk or honduran milk or something with some color.
