If you decide to give the snake away, no federal permits are needed. I would consider several factors if you decide to give the snake away: Will it be part of an educational program, Will it be part of a breeding program, Does the receiver have a female ready, Does the receiver have a long time interest in snakes in general and indigos specifically, Do you like the person...

p.s. A good friend of mine has a breeding size female and only related males available for breeding...:-)

:I am need of advice on how to go about finding a home for an adult male indigo. I am in the unhappy position of needing to find a good/appropriate home for this beautiful fella.
