I have a Texas Indigo that is a great animal to have. His head is olive colored, his chin is a beautiful Ivory white, a white belly with hints of orange and alternating black tiger stripes. The one thing that I dont care much for unfortunately is the main color which is best described as dark gray. It isn't as irridescent as the easterns. The build of the Texas indigo seems to be not quite as thick as an eastern. The feces does not smell as bad as the easterns, I dont know why.
I dont have experience with any of the cribos so I dont know which would make a better pet for you. Good luck on whichever you decide.
: I have always been interested in owning a member of the Drymarchon species. Since I live in Florida, Eastern Indigos are out of the question. From what I've seen the Texas Indigo is the closest in appearance, but I've never really seen any good pictures of one. I would appreciate if anyone could provide photos, a definitive description of the appearance and variations in Texas Indigos, or point in the right direction. Hopefully this will help get off the fence as far as purchasing a black-tail cribo or Texas Indigo.
