Know it sounds a bit strange, but they seem to enjoy the exercise and never, ever tear off to escape.
Taking your Indigos out for a "walk" is not such a bad idea. I "walk" my corn snakes occasionally(when the sun is not out, they are albinos), which invariably stimulates them to "do their duty" at a really convenient location...outside!!!
Of course, I never leave them unsupervised. Oh, and it does help to have a private lawn!!!
