Generally, a healthy iguana poops once a day. A bath in the morning, to help hydrate and let the ig poop, would be great. Many igs love baths, but they aren't always so crazy about it the first few times. Or rather, "crazy" is exactly what they may be when you try to put them in the water. Just be warned! :-)

As for free roaming in your room, that could be a good option after he's a bit more tame... I wouldn't want an untame iguana sharing my room. My ig lives in my room with me, and is allowed to roam the rest of the house when supervised. I have to have the room organized so that he cannot get to anything that he could hurt himself on, or that he could break. And he's got an area of the room that is definitely HIS territory. He spends most of his time there. He's got a basking light, UVB light, his food dish and water dish there. Oh, and also his pillows. :-) He loves to lounge around on his pillows while he basks.
