What does Texas have to do with hicks? Sure...out in the middle of no where there are hicks...but that is the general concensus throughout much of the south and southeast. I do not know one person with one of these outlandish accents nor do I know anyone that recites phrases such as "hogwash." I am tired of Texas being the brunt of all these jokes...even on the herp forums. Maybe some of you are the ignorant one...I realize it is a joke, but seriously, it gets old. Get a new state...Texas is too cliche...Go pick on some other group.
