I have SMALL snakes that sit around all day! I have an adult 3' female Kenyan sand boa I only see at feeding time because she's under the substrate. I think that's why ratsnakes are so popular. They do things.
Another funny thing is that whenever I mention my and my husband's allergies to mammals, they always say, 'oh, THAT's why you have reptiles!', as if we wouldn't if we had a choice. And yes, we are allergic to poodles. And hairless varities of things. Luckily we have a hypoallergenic dog.
