:It is illegal to transport the Texas Horned Lizard, Phrynosoma cornutum, from one state to another. You will have to go to the appropriate Fish and Wildlife or Parks and Wildlife office in the state where you are located and apply for a Scientific Study Permit. This species is protected as Threatened throughout its range. The only states that will issue permits are Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Kansas and Colorado. There are also requirements for sponsorship in 4 of those states. Good luck. Lester G. Milroy III
