If you want to dabble with medical heating pads they are safe and use water. Check ebay for t pumps or therapy pumps made by gaymar. You don't need the pad just run the water through silicone tubing and use the tubing the way you would use pipe heating tape. Hospitals use them because they are safe and won't burn or catch fire.
